SYNARC's Vice President of Business Development To Present Three Topics at International Society for Clinical Densitometry Conference
Kenneth G. Faulkner, Ph.D. Will Address Topics on Radiation, Bone Mineral Density and How to Deal with Calibration San Francisco - March 12, 2007 - SYNARC, the world's largest provider of centralized imaging services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, announced today that co-founder and Vice President Kenneth G. Faulkner, Ph.D. will be presenting three unique topics at the International Society for Clinical Densitometry's 13th Annual Meeting, "Pediatrics to Geriatrics," at the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina, Tampa, Florida, from March 14-17. Dr. Faulkner will describe the reasons why bone mineral density (BMD) varies across different DXA equipment and how BMD differences impact clinical use. In his lecture on radiation, Dr. Faulkner will review basic radiation safety concepts as it applies to bone densitometry. He will also speak about how to adjust for changes in DXA calibration within and across systems. Dr. Faulkner has published more than 75 papers related to bone densitometry, focusing on the use of bone densitometry for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. The International Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD) is a multidisciplinary, nonprofit organization that provides a central resource for a number of scientific disciplines with an interest in the assessment of skeletal health. The Society was founded in June 1993 as the result of a meeting of a group who recognized the need to bring disciplines together for this single purpose. The Society was the first of its kind worldwide. About SYNARC # # # Media Contact:Joy Valderrama
